The Captain's Log Series Showdown Champion Marathon

 

Waypoint’s second annual Series Showdown tournament finished - and after receiving over 300,000 total votes and reached over 2 million people, you voted for your fishing champion: The Captain’s Log.

The Captain’s Log Beat out 16 shows who competed in the Fishing Bracket. The Fishing Bracket qualifiers consisted of show titles: Into the Blue, Silver Kings, Guidelines, Lindner's Angling Edge, Fly Rod Chronicles, Spanish Fly, The Captain's Log, Saltwater Experience, Flats Class, The Next Bite, Uncharted Waters with Peter Miller, Guiding Flow, Breaking Boundaries, Two Conchs, Sweetwater, and Local Knowledge.

After the first two rounds it did not matter that Captain Jonathan Moss (The Captain's Log) only has a little over two seasons under his belt, it was clear he meant business. He went on to take down Saltwater Experience and Fly Rod Chronicles to face Guidelines in the final four.

After the smoke cleared, the finals were set—The Captain's Log vs. Uncharted Waters. With voting continuing through the weekend and tens of thousands of votes per show coming in, it was a whole new level of competition.

Finally the votes were tallied, and the fan voted favorite was crowned fishing champion. “The Waypoint TV Showdown was an exciting and humbling experience.” said Jonathan Moss, host of The Captain's Log, “To be in the Top 16 was amazing, then to make it all the way to the finals and win. Who saw that coming? No one!” The cinderella story was born, Jonathan Moss now gets to hold the amazing title of 2021 Fishing Champion. The Captain’s Log is hosted by Capt. Jonathan Moss, a native Floridian, who has been fishing the waterways of Florida since the age of 3 years old.
